Country Deputy Representative

Peshraw Baker Hussein was born in the Kurdish region of Northern Iraq, where he endured the 8 year Iran-Iraq war, the chemical attack on Halabja, the Kuwait war, the massive Kurdish exodus during the first Gulf War, the civil war, and the second Gulf War. These life experiences have profoundly impacted Peshraw and motivated him to dedicate his time to the humanitarian cause.

Seeking to create change and improve lives for others, he now volunteers full time as Country Deputy Representative at Bring Hope. Since 2015, the year Bring Hope was founded, his work at Bring Hope has helped displaced people worldwide.

Since the ISIS incursion, Peshraw has assured the delivery of 2.5 million medical treatments and 160 consignments of humanitarian aid, including medical equipment and supplies. He has also worked in partnership with international organisations on initiatives designed to give hope and dignity back to those impacted by the conflict. He has focused, in particular, on the programmes that Bring Hope runs in refugee camps (for more information, please see the section ‘Programmes’).
