Hygiene as a Priority

Natural disasters, violence, poverty, war, and conflict create unthinkable problems. Sometimes the most basic human requirements are those no one thinks to address. Families who struggle are particularly vulnerable to disease and common illness. Bring Hope Humanitarian Foundation visited Kawergosk Refugee Camp on 24 June 2018, located in Erbil, Iraqi Kurdistan, it is home to nearly 8000 Syrian families. 55 packages of clothes and feminine hygiene kits, including soap, shampoo, and moisturizers were distributed to Syrian refugee women who are widowed as well as refugee girls both of whom were displaced and have no access to even the most basic sanitary care.

This Bring Hope Humanitarian Foundation initiative aims to preserve the dignity of Syrian women by providing these basic feminine hygiene products. Sabha Ramadan, a 40-year-old mother of five, fled the war in Syria more than six years ago with her children. She lost her husband from cancer. She told Bring Hope, “…personal hygiene is very important. I was very happy when I received hygiene kits. It is so important to wash hands before eating and after using the toilet.” You can be part of bringing a healthier lifestyle to those in need, see bringhope.info to learn more.
