Healthy Exercise leads to Healthy Living

The President and Founder of Bring Hope Humanitarian Foundation (BHHF) had a vision where encouraging young people to become active in competitive play activities such as football would develop the individual child, help them perform better in all daily areas of their life, give them hope and something to look forward to and teach skills. These skills included effective ways to communicate, how to be responsible, how to work together to build toward common goals and so many other social developmental attributes could and would be developed using “football teams” to create hope.

Support for this vision came in a most stunning and dramatic gesture, the well-known maker of football shoes and designer footwear, Adidas made a tremendous impact on the lives of thousands of children residing in 18 refugee camps located throughout Kurdistan. The “football” initiative developed and supported through Bring Hope Humanitarian Foundation now serves 135 co-ed football teams located in four cities…Kirkuk, Erbil, Duhok, and Sulaimaniyah and by thousands of boys and girls!

This initiative gives the children a sense of “reality” when playing football, it encourages participation allowing healthy exercise, positive self-worth and skill building. Together BHHF and Adidas have provided a means for refugee children to find hope, develop friendships, live healthier lives and believe in a better, more positive future.

As Bring Hope Humanitarian Foundation struggles to provide a realistic competitive environment for these impressionable young people, Adidas stepped up to help. BHHF hopes to continue expanding their “football” initiative by building future resources and providing hope for future generations of young people whose smiles could not be contained when they received their “real” football shoes.

Everyone can bring hope

BHHF’s primary objective of humanitarian aid is to save lives, alleviate suffering, as well as to give the most vulnerable group (displaced children) hope for the future. BHHF has provided humanitarian aid with short-term and long-term help to homeless refugees, victims of natural disasters, wars and famines, and poor people.

Heartwarming news. Once a month.
